Mercer County Healthcare Disaster Planning Coalition (MCHDPC) - Tuesday, October 18th, 2016 from 10:00a.m.-12:00p.m. at Central Services Bldg., Conference Room B195 (Use Sugar St. Entrance)
The Mercer County Healthcare Disater Planning Coalition (MCHDPC) is a voluntary group chaired by the Mercer County-Celina City Health Department (MCCCHD), Mercer County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), and Mercer Health Hospital. Its goal is to maximize healthcare response capabilities and minimize healthcare system interruption during emergencies by planning together to identify and fill gaps. The Coalition is open to all organizations that provide or support health services in Mercer County. Recruitment of members will be ongoing. The Coalition meets semi-annually to engage in planning, completing training and exercises. The MCHDPC will work to support the restoration of community healthcare systems, including public health, medical, and mental/behavioral health, post-disaster. The coalition joins to improve the quality of lives of Mercer County residents by preventing the harmful consequences of substance use and abuse among youth, families, and the larger community.
~Smaller “working groups” within the coalition have been formed and will begin working and planning at this meeting! At this point, the four focus areas will be:
~Increasing substance abuse education and awareness (parents and youth)
~Increasing positive youth alternative activities
~Reducing adult alcohol and other drug abuse
~Reducing opiate and prescription drug abuse

ServSafe Manager Training (2 day course) - Monday, December 5th and Monday, December 12th, 2016 from 8:30a.m.-4:30p.m. at Mercer County OSU Extension Office (220 W. Livingston St., Rm B252)
Food Service Managers and Food Handlers at restaurants, convenience stores, grocery stores, school food service workers, and civic groups who prepare food for sale and consumption. This course meets the standards as set by the Ohio Department of Health as Level II Certification in Food Protection Manager Certification (Ohio Revised Code 3701-21-25). Cost is $150 includes course, books, handouts, lunch and certification test. Certification is good for 5 years.
